In the small and mysterious town of Rosewood, four
teenagers have grown up: Spencer Hastings, Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields and
Hanna Marin, who despite being very different from each other and having their
own list of defects, were once best friends and had for its leader and bee
queen: Alison Di Laurentis, who despite her popularity and beauty, was also the
most manipulative and cruel girl known throughout the town. When Alison
mysteriously disappeared without leaving a trace of Rosewood, the girls ended
their friendship and matured separately.
Barely a year after
the disappearance of Alison, the girls rejoin after the discovery of the body
of who used to be a leader and with the appearance of a series of messages and
threats sent by a sinister anonymous identity, known simply as "A" .
